Optics came about
slowly, yet fairly quickly. Originally intended to promote and sell the William
Optics line of telescopes through star parties, it became evident that a web store would be an
obvious extension. As the website was being designed, the thought of a showroom
emerged, but it was thought we should walk before we run. We want, and intend,
to be here for the long term. We are hoping that our customers will see a
quality of service and care, that they will come to appreciate. After all, we
are users of the telescope equipment we sell, just like you.
We hope that you will find our pricing to be good enough that you won't have to shop across the border, to save money. All our prices will reflect the US price, with the current Canadian exchange rate, plus or minus a few dollars. You will save the cost and headache of dealing with brokers, COD fees and the like.
We are a WILLIAM OPTICS Authorized Dealer. We sell what we use. We work very closely with William Optics, so if there is something you see on the William Optics USA site that is not on ours, feel free to ask us about it. Anything. We will try our best to sell it to you, or assist you in your purchase. In some cases, an item might be specially priced so low that only WO USA can sell it to you, but we will help you out all we can. All promotions and sales from William Optics will be adhered to as close as possible.
We are also a SkyShed POD Authorized Dealer. We work very closely with SkyShed, and also arrange the truckload shipments to Western Canada, whether we sell them, or they are purchased direct or through another dealer. APO currently has 2 SkyShed POD's for any customer to view. I cannot stress enough, how well the SkyShed POD compliments the ownership of fine telescopes, and how much more enjoyment one can and will attain in this astronomy hobby, with the ownership of a SkyShed POD.
And we are now a LUNT SOLAR SYSTEMS Authorized Dealer. We are into solar observing and can't wait to try out the new line of scopes and filter systems that Lunt is offering.
We are a Unihedron Sky Quality Meter Authorized Dealer. A unique tool that has many uses.
We are a TMB Optical Authorized Dealer. This well known brand now gives you extra choices in the competitive apochromat market.
We are an ASTRONOMY TECHNOLOGIES Authorized Dealer. Their Astro-Tech line features new Ritchey-Chretien astrographs, Dobsonian and Maksutov-Cassegrains - telescopes that we look forward to presenting to you for the first time.
It is our intent to be a stocking store, one that you can order from today and have shipped tomorrow. No two or three week waiting for something to be ordered first and show up later. But bear in mind, as a new store, it will take time to build inventory to that level. You don't have to pay for items ahead of time, if they are not in stock. You only pay when we have it, and you want the item shipped. We intend to add a few, select, other brand items, as we continue to grow.
We don't have a showroom, but hope to do so in the future. Those who have dealt with us already, know that they can come by and see what we have, by emailing or calling ahead. We plan to have a strong presence at Western Canada star parties, in particular the Saskatchewan Summer Star Party (SSSP).

It doesn't have to be within normal working hours.
Payment & Shipping Information
At present, our preferred form of payment is INTERAC Email Money Transfer. We also accept Canada Post and bank money orders. Personal checks and money orders will have to clear before shipping. PayPal and Interac give same day or next day shipping.
MasterCard, Visa and American Express will be available in the near future, so just ask first in case we have added it, and just haven't posted so. Paypal is the current alternative, as you can use your credit card through them, even if you don't want to set up a PayPal account. To do that, we just send you an invoice and a "request for money". Works just fine.
GST will be added to all orders.
Shipping will be added to all orders,
except for the certain items that have Free Shipping.
Shipping will be by Canada Post Expedited Ground unless otherwise requested or stated.
