| Barrel | 2" |

| Weight | 709 grams |
TITAN 38mm 2" Eyepiece
This 2" Astro-Tech 38mm Titan is a really big low power eyepiece with a super
wide angle wide 70ฐ field. It provides dramatic picture window onto space"
images with virtually any telescope that uses a 2" diagonal or focuser. For
example, with an 8" f/10 catadioptric it will give you a wide 1.33ฐ actual field
(well over two and a half times the diameter of the full Moon) at 52.6x. With an
8" f/6 Dob, however, the 38mm Titan provides 32x, a very bright 6.33mm exit
pupil, and a wide 2.19ฐ field of view thats well over four times wider than the
full Moon. It takes an object nearly nine minutes to cross that very wide field,
giving multiple observers plenty of time to take a look before you have to
manually re-aim your scope. Please note the 24.8 ounce weight of this eyepiece
if you have a Dobsonian scope. It may pose a balance problem with some
Dobsonians when switching to the 38mm from a much lighter 1.25" eyepiece. Use of
the 38mm Titan may require some temporary rebalancing of your scope. With a
refractor like an 80mm f/6.8, the 38mm Titan provides a huge 4.84ฐ field at
14.5x. That makes the scope its own best finderscope and ideal for very wide
field views of galaxy clusters, the larger nebulas, open clusters, the star
clouds in Sagittarius, and more.
The Titans 20mm eye relief provides unvignetted viewing for eyeglass wearers.
You will find you have to move your head from side to side while observing to
see the entire Cinemascope-type field. Protective dust covers are provided for
both ends of the eyepiece. Astronomy Technologies provides a 2 year warranty.

TITAN 32mm 2" Eyepiece
This Astro-Tech 32mm Titan is low power super wide angle 2" eyepiece with a
very wide 70ฐ field. It provides picture window onto space" images with any
telescope type. If you have a 2" diagonal or focuser, it will nearly double
the area of the field of view thats visible through a high quality 32mm
Pl๖ssl eyepiece. For example, with an 8" f/10 catadioptric it will give you
a wide 1.12ฐ actual field (0.99 square degrees in area and well over twice
the diameter of the full Moon) at 62.5x. This compares with the 0.8ฐ actual
field (0.5 square degrees in area) that you get at the same magnification
with the 50ฐ apparent field of a typical high grade 32mm Pl๖ssl. With an
f/4.5 Dobsonian, however, it starts pushing the envelope of your eyes
abilities. With an 8" f/6 Dob the 32mm Titan provides 38x, a bright 5.33mm
exit pupil, and a wide 1.84ฐ field of view thats over three times wider
than the full Moon. It takes an object nearly seven and a half minutes to
cross that wide field of view. Using an 80mm f/6.8 refractor, the 32mm Titan
provides a huge 4.07ฐ field at 17.2x. That makes it ideal for very wide
field views of galaxy clusters, the larger nebulas, open clusters, and more.
Its 17mm eye relief will provide virtually unvignetted viewing for eyeglass
wearers. Protective dust covers are provided for both ends of the eyepiece.

TITAN 26mm 2" Eyepiece
The Astro-Tech 26mm Titan is medium power super wide angle 2" eyepiece with
a very wide 70ฐ field. It provides picture window onto space" images with
any telescope type. If you have a 2" diagonal or focuser, it will nearly
double the area of the field of view visible through the 25mm or 26mm
eyepiece that comes standard with most new telescopes. For example, with an
8" f/10 catadioptric it will give you a wide 0.91ฐ actual field (0.65 square
degrees in area) at 76.9x. This compares with the 0.65ฐ actual field (0.33
square degrees in area) that you get at the same power with the typical 26mm
Pl๖ssl supplied with most such scopes. With a 1143mm focal length 10" f/4.5
Dobsonian it provides 44x, a bright 5.8mm exit pupil, and a wide 1.6ฐ field
of view thats over three times as wide as the Moon. It takes an object
nearly six and a half minutes to cross that field of view. With a refractor
like an 80mm f/6.8, the 26mm Titan provides a huge 3.3ฐ field at 21.2x. That
makes it ideal for very wide field views of galaxy clusters, the larger
nebulas, open clusters, and more.
Its 13mm eye relief is quite reasonable for this focal length, although it
can somewhat limit the field for eyeglass wearers. Protective dust covers

TITAN 20mm 1.25" Eyepiece
This Astro-Tech 20mm Titan is a very wide 70ฐ field medium power 1.25"
eyepiece. It will give you a wide 1.23ฐ field and a bright 4.4mm exit pupil
at 57x with a 10" f/4.5 Dobsonian. This will give you almost five minutes to
observe an object as it drifts from one side of the eyepieces flat field to
the other in such a scope. With a 400mm focal length 66mm refractor it
provides 20x, a 3.3mm exit pupil, and a huge 3.5ฐ field of view thats seven
times as wide as the Moon. Use this 20mm Titan on an 8" f/10 catadioptric
scope and you still get a 0.7ฐ field at 100x, perfect for the Moon and
globular clusters like M9, M13, and M22. This eyepiece also makes it a very
affordable choice to buy in pairs for binoviewer.
Its 11mm eye relief is quite reasonable for this focal length, although it
can somewhat limit the field for eyeglass wearers. Protective dust covers
are provided for both ends of the eyepiece. Astronomy Technologies provides

TITAN 15mm 1.25" Eyepiece
The Astro-Tech 15mm Titan is a very wide 70ฐ field medium power 1.25"
eyepiece. It is ideal for lunar observing, resolving globular clusters,
picking up detail in emission and reflection nebulas, etc. Its 15mm focal
length nicely fills the gap between the 25/26mm eyepiece that typically
comes as standard equipment with most telescopes and an 8/10mm high power
planetary/binary star splitting eyepiece.
With short focal length refractors and fast focal ratio reflectors, it gives
an extraordinary picture window on space" image. An f/4 8"
Schmidt-Newtonian reflector, for example, yields a 3.75mm exit pupil, 54x,
and a generous 1.3ฐ field of view thats good for observing open clusters
such as the Pleiades; large nebulas such as the Lagoon, Veil, and Orion; and
large globulars such as M-13 and Omega Centauri. Globular clusters and
nebulas are vivid and nearly three-dimensional. A 66mm f/6 refractor has a
magnification of 27x with this eyepiece, with a 2.5mm exit pupil and an
immense 2.63ฐ field (over five times as wide as the full Moon). Use this
15mm Titan on an 8" f/10 catadioptric scope and you still get a 0.52ฐ field
at 133x, perfect for the Moon and globular clusters like M9, M13, and M22.
The 7mm eye relief is somewhat short for those who must wear eyeglasses
while observing due to astigmatism, and will somewhat vignette the field.
This is of minor concern, as even those who dont have to wear glasses while
observing will find they have to move their head from side to side while
observing to see the entire huge field of view. Protective dust covers are

TITAN 10mm 1.25" Eyepiece
This Astro-Tech 10mm Titan is a very wide 70ฐ field medium to medium-high
power 1.25" eyepiece at a very economical price. Its 10mm focal length makes
it a good choice for high power lunar/planetary observing and binary star
splitting with a long focal length telescope. With an 8" f/10 catadioptric,
it provides 200x with a 1mm exit pupil, the optimum exit pupil generally
recommended to best match the resolution of your telescope to the resolution
of your eye. The field of view with such an 8" f/10 scope is a surprising
0.35ฐ at 200x, nearly three-quarters the lunar diameter. A f/4 8"
Schmidt-Newtonian reflector yields a 2.5mm exit pupil, 81x, and a generous
0.86ฐ field of view thats perfect for globular clusters like M9, M13, and
M22. A 66mm f/6 refractor has a magnification of 40x with this eyepiece,
with a 1.66mm exit pupil and a generous 1.75ฐ field (three and a half times
as wide as the full Moon). That wide field is good for observing open
clusters such as the Pleiades and the Double Cluster in Perseus; large
nebulas such as the Lagoon, Veil, and Orion; and large globulars such as
M-13 and Omega Centauri.
The 7mm eye relief is somewhat short for those who must wear eyeglasses

PARADIGM Dual ED Eyepieces
These new Astro-Tech Paradigm Dual ED lens eyepieces use a
six-lens optical system with two ED elements in a design that is quite unique.
The new Paradigm Dual ED eyepieces are not simply a repackaging under a
different brand name of an existing ED eyepiece line (some of which have been on
the market for over 15 years). Instead, the Paradigm Dual ED optical design is
totally new and unique to the Astro-Tech Paradigm eyepieces. The six lens/four
group optical layout can be seen in schematic.
Each Paradigm uses two separate ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements of
different glass types in its optical system to provide exceptional color
fidelity (with vanishingly low levels of chromatic aberration) so that the true
color differences between binary star pairs and planetary surface details are
easily visible. Their 60ฐ field of view is very flat, particularly with
telescopes f/5 and above in focal ratio. They are uniformly sharp edge-to-edge,
with markedly low astigmatism. Barrel distortion is essentially non-existent,
eliminating the annoying goldfish bowl distortion of the image seen in some
eyepieces when panning across a star field.
Each air-to-glass surface in a Paradigm eyepiece is fully multicoated for high
light transmission and exceptional contrast. The high contrast makes them a good
choice for splitting close binary stars, for examining low contrast lunar and
planetary detail, and for ferreting out small and faint planetary nebulas
against a truly dark sky background. The lens edges are blackened to eliminate
internal reflections and further improve contrast.
Their chrome barrels are threaded for standard 1.25 filters, and a shallow
safety groove is machined into each barrel. This groove engages the thumbscrew
or compression ring of your focuser or star diagonal to prevent the eyepiece
from falling should the thumbscrew loosen accidentally during use. The Paradigms
are parfocal, minimizing the amount of refocusing needed when switching from a
low power eyepiece to a higher power within the series.
Their very well-made and substantial bodies are clad in shock-absorbing rubber,
with nine scalloped grooves around the circumference to provide a secure grip in
all temperatures. The soft rubber eyecup incorporates an internal twist-up
design that lets you smoothly raise and lower the Paradigm eyecup to precisely
match the eye relief to your eyesight. The eye lenses are large in diameter,
making it easy to comfortably center your eye on the exit pupil. At 13mm to
15mm, the usable eye relief allows for comfortable eyeglass use,
Although Astronomy Technologies is making these eyepieces available for the
first time, they still come with a 2 year warranty. Paradigm Dual ED eyepieces

Alberta Premium Optics is proud to introduce the new William
Optics SPL (Super Planetary Long eye-relief) eyepieces. This new Planetary
Eyepiece series is designed for users with needs of a high-power, sharp and high
contrast views for planetary observations. The long eye relief is a bonus for
people with eyeglasses and for people who do not want to strain their eyesight
during observation sessions.
High Quality Optical Lens
Special glasses and perfect multi-coatings make the optical performance of
SPL amazing in almost any telescope.
A well corrected field of view, free from optical aberrations, allows you to
finally enjoy planets as they deserve to be.
Good transmittance and excellent color rendition will allow you to enjoy
planetary details you had missed so far.
Leave ghosting and flares to other eyepieces: your William Optics SPL will not
disappoint you.
High Power and High Contrast
Available in three focal lengths, 3mm, 6mm, and 12.5mm, these eyepieces
will satisfy any power requirement.
Easy to Barlow, they will yield amazing results even at the highest powers.
(provided that atmospherical conditions and your telescope can hold such
high powers!)
Great contrast and sharp to the edge.
Distortion-free EXTRA details is not a miracle: it all goes down to quality
construction and design.
Long Eye Relief
All three focal lengths boast very long eye relief for maximum view
comfort even for eyeglass wearers.
Mechanically beautiful and functional tapered barrel.
Blackened lenses edges and flat black paint in the barrel to minimize sources
of potential reflections.
Excellent Value
The price of these planetary eyepieces will encourage you to get the whole
series to add to your keeper eyepieces!
SPL eyepieces will give you just what you always wanted.

TMB PLANETARY Eyepieces
The TMB Opticalฎ eyepieces are long eye relief eyepieces with
a comfortably wide field that have the sharpness, contrast, and lack of lateral
color and light scatter for planetary observing of the best orthoscopic and
Pl๖ssl designs. What they dont have is the ortho and Pl๖ssls limited eye
relief and restricted fields. The six-element TMB Opticalฎ eyepieces provide a
substantial 58ฐ field of view with high contrast, a tack sharp view, and
surprisingly long eye relief for relatively unvignetted eyeglass use.
The TMB Opticalฎ eyepieces are fully internally baffled and all internal spacers
have antireflection microbaffles on their edges and full flat black anodizing to
reduce reflections. The field stop likewise has microbaffles in its edge to
reduce off-axis flaring. Every air to glass surface is broadband multicoated for
peak light transmission and superb contrast on subtle lunar and planetary
detail. Each has a flexible rubber fold-down eyeguard on top of a twist-up
eyecup that can be raised or lowered to match precisely the eye relief you find
most comfortable. The eye lens is very large, at a 22mm diameter, which many
people find more user-friendly than the narrow diameter lens of most short focal
length eyepieces. Spherical aberration of the exit pupil is well controlled, so
there are no serious blackouts or kidney-bean effects if you move your eye
slightly off the eyepiece sweet spot, as you find with many other wide field
eyepiece types. Dust covers are provided for both ends of each eyepiece. A
safety groove is machined into the black barrel to engage your focuser
thumbscrew to prevent the eyepiece from falling should the thumbscrew
accidentally loosen while observing.
Tested against such stellar planetary eyepieces as the legendary TMB Super
Monocentrics and the Zeiss Abbe orthos, the TMB Opticalฎ designs were equal in
sharpness to these 5-6 times more expensive eyepieces, with wider fields and
longer eye relief, and virtually their equal in the amount of light scatter
truly amazing, considering the low price of the TMB Opticalฎ eyepieces.
Production of TMB Opticalฎ Planetary Eyepieces has been officially authorized by
the estate of the late Thomas M. Back.
